Payment Methods
We currently accept these payment methods:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- Discover
- American Express
- Gift cards
- Checks (phone orders only)
Additionally, staples.com currently accepts these alternative payment methods:
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Klarna
We accept multiple payment methods online, via the phone and at the in-store kiosk.
How to Pay with Third-Party Payment Providers
You can pay for most items on Staples.com using third-party payment providers PayPal, Apple Pay and Klarna.
To pay for a qualifying order using your third-party payment account, simply select the button for the method you’d like use on the Cart page or at Checkout. You will be redirected to the third-party payment site. Once your address and payment method are confirmed, you’ll be directed back to our Staples Checkout page to finish placing your order.
Note: If your preferred payment method is not displayed, items on your order do not qualify for that payment method.
Third-party payment providers manage and process their own transactions. If you have trouble paying using a third-party payment method, reach out to the third-party’s payment support using the applicable link below or select a different payment method (if available).
Third-party payment methods cannot be used:
- In combination with other online purchase payment options including Credit Cards, Gift Cards and Pre-paid cards.
- In store.
- As a payment method to place orders via telephone.
- To purchase Gift Cards and Pre-paid cards.
- To purchase a Staples Plus membership.
Kiosk Payments for Deliveries
Delivery orders may be placed at a kiosk and paid for in our stores. For these orders, we accept:
- Cash
- Gift cards
- Check
- Credit and debit cards (see above)
Payment Method Restrictions
- Services that cannot be purchased on staples.com will be noted on the website. They can only be bought in stores.
- Copy & Print services can be purchased with cash, gift card, check, and credit and debit cards. All others must be paid for with a credit card.
- Gift cards may not be used to purchase other gift cards.
- Downloadable software has a single method of payment option only and excludes the use of gift cards as payment.
