The Philips 473942 is compatible with Instant Start, Programmed Start, Dimmable, and Emergency ballasts eliminating the need for rewiring. This allows the fixture to maintain its original UL compliance. This Philips bulb is Mercury Free, and comes on instantly with no flicker or buzz.
