What Are Catalog Envelopes?

Catalog envelopes, also referred to as open-end envelopes, are a type of envelope designed to open and seal on one end and are large enough to hold most documents without having to bend them, as opposed to more traditional letter-size envelopes. These envelopes have a center seam which makes them more durable for mailing heavy-weight materials, hence the name. What’s the Difference Between Catalog Envelopes and Booklet Envelopes?

Though both are popular types of business envelopes, there is a difference. Catalog envelopes open on the shorter end. Booklet envelopes are designed with the opening on the long end. For example, on a 10" x 13" envelope, the open flap is along the 10" side if it’s catalog and on the 13” side if it’s a booklet envelope.
