- Over-ear wireless headphones: Over-ear headphones are typically the largest, which can both increase comfort and decrease their ease of transportation. They incorporate cushioned ear cups to totally enclose the ear, immersing you in the media playback and blocking out all ambient sound. Over-ear wireless headphones are optimal for music with deep bass and high volume without disturbing those around you.
- On-ear wireless headphones: Some options of on-ear headphones are like a smaller, thinner cousin to over-ear headphones which secure to the ear’s outer face. These have wire loops around the back of neck for extra security while running, working out or traveling and the sound quality is similar to in-ear headphones. How Do You Connect Wireless Headphones?
Connecting wireless headphones to your device is specific to both the target device and the brand of headphones you have. The following are general guidelines for how to connect wireless headphones to Mac and Windows devices.
Before you start, ensure the headphones and device are close to each other, charged and powered on. Check to ensure the audio level on your target device is up so you can tell if the connection was successful.
Mac Devices:
- Navigate to system preferences by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen and clicking “System Preferences.”
- In the settings pane, navigate to and click on the Bluetooth icon.
